Co-Founders and Board Members

Be Well came to life via Mary’s and Heidi’s personal experiences as caregivers to parents who lost their battles with the disease. During this time, they both felt extremely helpless and powerless and wished there was something else they could do to ease their parent’s physical and mental suffering. As yoga teachers and practitioners, they knew deep down that yoga was the answer, and Be Well was born.

Mary Baker

Being a teacher for most of her adult life, teaching yoga truly brings Mary joy. Mary loves connecting with students on a personal level, enabling them to find comfort and ease in their bodies and guiding them on their yogic journey as their practice deepens.

Mary began her 200-hour teacher training in 2009, the same year her parents were diagnosed with terminal cancers. She credits her yoga practice with giving her the physical, mental, and spiritual strength she needed to face such a challenging time.

After completing her 500-hour yoga teacher training in 2013 with True Nature School of Yoga, Mary completed a specialized 100-hour “Yoga of the Heart” cardiac and cancer certification. This was to fulfill her calling to help those living with cancer (and heart disease) and their caregivers. She has also completed 50 hours of training in Yoga4Cancer – a technique developed by cancer survivor and master teacher Tari Prinster.

She completed an additional 300-hour program through the Soul of Yoga in 2014, earning the designation ERYT-200/RYT-500. Heidi also has completed a specialized 100-hour "Yoga of the Heart" cardiac and cancer certification, 50 hours of Restorative Yoga training, and 20 hours of Yin Yoga training.
